Heroes Season 3

So here we are we find ourselves nearing the end of another season of Heroes, we find ourselves asking more questions than we have answered. Who really are Sylar's parents, will Peter get his powers back, or do we like the new powerless Peter, if Peter kills Arthur does that mean everyone who he robbed powers from will get their powers back, will Adam Munroe reanimate from the dust of the earth, and will Nikki/Tracy ever die, and what happened to Micah does he ever play a part in the show again.

My guesses and opinions, Sylar like Elle and Nathan was manufactured to have super powers, and is not a Petrelli, he will go mad and end up in an institution. Peter, please give Peter back his powers, he was the best part of the show, he is the Anti-Sylar, and maybe just as mad, without his powers he has become annoying. I hope that Peter Kills Arthur, and everyone gets their powers returned, can the Nikki/tracy charecter please die, enough.

I cant wait untilll next weeks show and the season Finale.

Musicians and album covers

many times a band will come out with a really sweet cover, like the White Stipes always very cool album covers, the Decemberists always please as does Bright Eyes, but so many are just total crapola, (look thats not even considered a real word, what kind of crapola is that!!) any way what i want to say to them is, oooh look aren't we clever, oh is that a naked barbie sitting on a GI Joe's lap aren't we just funny and cute, well no most album covers suck, that is why i salute the band "Hard Fi" for their no cover art concept.

So listen up lameos, stop with all the crap and spend your time making music that doesnt suck, this means you 50 Cent, you are defiantly no Kanye West....

Finally a good decision by a network, they are bringing back one of my favorite shows next year on a trial basis, please watch it, it is a good show. They are going to be showing the first episode and the second half of the season on Friday nights at 9 starting July 6th, so try it you may like it.

too much focus on failure?

I went away a couple of weekends ago with some friends, and we had some amazing conversations among the madness that is the guys cabin weekend.

Coming out of that time of conversation i have been thinking do we dwell too much on those things we cant seem to get past, and not enough time thanking God for the things he has helped us conquer.

i wonder if so much of our heartache comes from looking too closely at where we fail, and not looking closely enough at our successes. I am going to look and focus on where God has matured me and where he is having victory in my life, maybe this is how we overcome through looking toward what is good and admirable, and not living in the regret of our mistakes.

Justice, the death penalty and pro-life

Starting with Saddam's hanging and forward i have been having these discussions with people reading blogs and commentaries on the subject and trying to think it through biblically.

First off let me state my belief on the subjects offered:

Pro Life, yes i am as far as i see the meaning of it, i am for the sanctity of the unborn life, the innocents who have as of yet to revel in their sinful nature, i believe that abortion is murder plain and simple, there are other ways of dealing with an unwanted pregnancy then just ending a life, do i know when life begins? No, so i side on the safe side and say at conception, that way i disallow for all arguments about human life's beginning, it's my belief. To me that is where the whole pro life movement stops, pro life in my opinion does not touch on other life issues, weather euthanasia, death penalty or whatever, i cannot in good conscious lay that big of a blanket over all of the issues and be ok with that, i don't l think life is so black and white.

Death Penalty, being on both sides of the fence on this issue in my short and still learning life, i now fall on the side of being in favor of the death penalty in the right situation, i do believe that all cases must be taken one at a time and judged fairly. Some crimes deserve the death penalty, some dont, some crimes such as proven rape, the punishment should be castration, removal of the offending organ, and like wise for other crimes, cut off a thief's hand and he cant steal again......

Justice, here is where the argument gets real tricky. Is there justice in our society, is there honesty in our system of law, is there even the ability to be impartial and judge rightly? There must be some justice in the world, we know that God hasn't left the world in a state of total depravity. My hope is that in some way justice does prevail, but my fear is that justice is seen as a tool by those in power to Lord it over those who are not powerful, not wealthy, not well connected not considered worth it by those in society that hold the power. OJ gets off free, Actors get off scott free, politicians get out of trouble, and we applaud them for it.

those of you who hold that pro-life = sanctity of life, you must be against war, you cant support bush and his warmongering tactics or you are a fraud, sorry this is how i see it, you cant be for something as long as it suits your needs.

So i stole this idea from various media sources/people. I have decided that blogs in general are pretty narcissistic, so i will try not to write about me so much as about things going on current events or fun times or whatever.

so here is my list hope you like it

Best Movie Seen at the Theater: Rocky Balboa , actually the only movie i saw at the theater in 2006 so by default we have a winner!!!

Best Movie Rented: Walk the Line , Johnny Cash, need i say more?

Best Concert Attended: Don Peris and Dennison Witmer, great show at the Tin Angel, one of my favorite spots to see a show, both guys were on that night.

Best Embarrassing moment: This place smells like strippers...need i say more...

Best worst night: Eagles vs. Giants and me vs. the Screaming Chocolate monkey

Best Football game of the year: Eagles vs. Dallas 2. Eagles clench a playoff spot, beat down the hated cowgirls twice in one year this time they were favored by 7 points, and got whipped oh yeah baby!!!

Best Book Read: Wow this is tough i have read alot of greta books this year, i'll start with the honorable mentions.

Warhol the Biography - Victor Bockris
Great book about the life and works of Warhol, being one of my favorite artists i have never really examined his life untill this book, a very sad and tragic look into the life of a pop superstar, Andy's life was a mess from the start and didnt get any better, i guess the best art comes from the most tortured souls.

Best coffee roasted and Drank: Ethiopian Harar Horse Lot 30 Can you say coffee perfection in the cup, this coffee was an explosion of blueberry aroma and flavor, not that aftificial flavoring crap, but it is a part of the flavor of the bean itself, the most unique and delicious coffee ever grown.

second place goes to: Brazil Cup of Exc. #13 Nazareth Dias Pereira malty sweet, and oh so good.

Best Salsa of 2006: Senior Fields fire roasted Salsa, friends it doesn't get any better than this, spicy, fresh, with a hint of cilantro and the fire roasted tomatoes and Jalepeno's, mmm buddy!!

Best Albums Released in 2006: OK so there were a ton of excellent albums this year, maybe not the best year ever, but ill try to narrow it down to 6 in no particular order.

The Streets - Hardest way to make an easy living
Espers - Espers II
Sufjan Stevens - The Avalanche
The Beatles - Love

Best Music Rediscovered: Albums i havent listened to in a while i listened to this year and loved all over again, i know these are all over the map, but hey so am I...

Yes - The Yes Album...prog rock at it's very best period.
The Zombies - Zombie Heaven.. "She's not there" one of the best songs ever!
The Velvet Underground - The band that i really think started it all, the indie rock godfathers.

Best Friend who moved to another state: Paul Sanders, the best guitarist i know and one of my oldest friends, i have known Paul since i was 5 and he still likes me, no wonder were friends, we must both be a little off.

Best Cocktail: The Blue Cheese stuffed Olive Martini, made with Gin of course if it's made with vodka it's not a martini it's a vodkatini, vodkatini's should only be used as a base for some kind of fru-fru-tini, not as a drink unto itself.

Best Beer: the Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA hands down the best beer ever produced by man.

Best Republican Friend who is a Republican just because he like the financial gain for himself: Richie

Best political Blunder of the Year: Bush trying to leave after the room after a press conference in China. "Heh Heh, i was just trying to show those commie bastards that we americans have freedom of choice of what doors we can come and leave by."

Best TV Show: Heroes great new show with a great concept, just behind is Jericho another great new show this year.

Best cloves ever: The Djarum Natural, and who would have thought Cousin Steve would be the one who found that out, dumb luck i figure.

Best new Vice of the Year: snuff, you know smokeless tobacco, thanks JD for this new Vice, you are voted best trouble friend of the year!

WOW is this show great or what, after watching Mondays episode i cant wait a week for the next one, the acting is great, the writing is intense, and the suspense is killing me, is the cheerleaders dad a good guy or a bad guy, what is going on with Mohinder. I cant wait till next week.
